I create software for awesome projects

Over the summer I worked with a research team of at University of Leeds, where I developed software tools in python to help our team carry out research. The software I created helped find the space of shapes the Caenorhabditis elegans (roundworms) were able to make, reducing the number of dimensions needed to capture the shapes though PCA. Contributing to the research myself I managed to show that the majority of the worms movement can be captured with as little as 5 eigenvalues. I also showed that anticlockwise motion is more dominant in the worms behaviour.

During my second year of University, I worked with researchers from the University of Elche to identify types of olive oils via there smell. Using data analysis techniques to classify different olive oils, I was able to show with an 80% accuracy wether an olive oil was bad quality or low quality. We used an array of MQ sensors, an arduino and other electronics, making this technique very effective on low cost equipment.
